MINEHEAD will be looking for back to back wins in the Somerset Division of the West of England Premier Cricket League when they play away to Taunton on Saturday, June 22.

The seasiders gained their first victory of the season last Saturday when they beat fellow strugglers Frome away by three runs, collecting 20 points for the first time this summer.

Minehead scored 127 all out in 45 overs with Andrew Stevens top scoring with 22 and their bowlers managed to defend this total with Braden Taylor taking 4-15 in his 8.5 overs and Jack Richards 3-29 in his ten-over spell.

Victory enabled Minehead to move of the bottom which is now occupied by Frome.

Minehead's opponents on Saturday Taunton are lying fifth in the table, having won three of their seven league matches. However, they are only 21 points behind the leaders Bridgwater is what is a very competitive division.

Taunton went down by three wickets away to Shapwick and Polden last weekend. They scored 208-6, with Dan Quick and Paul Braithwaite both scoring 75 and sharing in a third-wicket stand of 143.

Consistent batting down the order enabled Shapwick to score the runs with 13 balls to spare.
