MINEHEAD 2nd XI drew with Spaxton in a Somerset Cricket League match.

After choosing to bat Spaxton lost their first wicket on 16 when Ryan Gamlin was run out by James Davis.

Opener John Bishop and Tim Hill took the total onto 82 when Hill was dismissed by Rajan for 24.

Bishop remained at the wicket to see Spaxton onto 126 when he was caught by Connor Patterson off James Griffiths for 71 which came off 76 balls and included 12 fours a a six.

Dave Pople and Ben Rich added 49 for the fifth wicket together before Rich was bowled by Patterson as Spaxton closed their innings on 201 for five.

Pople remained unbeaten on 44 which came off 56 balls and included three fours.

When Minehead replied they were given a good start by openers Vishnu Kombath and Andrew Stevens who added 83 before Kombath was out for 39.

Stevens and Gary Bennett then saw the total onto 112 before Stevens departed run out for 38, while Gary Bennett hit 37 off 25 balls before he went with the score on 126. A couple more wickets tumbled before the rain. Minehead 2nd XI 155-5, Spaxton 201-5.
