MANY of the Somerset Pathway teams have been in action over the last few days, during which the stand-out performances have been an unbeaten 127 from Thomas Rew, five wickets for four runs from Lola Harris and five for 20 by Oscar Coleman- all at Under 18 level.

Thomas scored his unbeaten century for the boys in their match against London Schools Cricket Association Academy who batting first were bowled out for 228 in 47.3 overs, Noah Lewis-Jones claiming 4-38.

When Somerset replied, Rew and Seb Linnet put on 147 for the first wicket before the latter was out for 76 off 65 balls with 10 fours and three sixes. Finn Kelsey then joined Rew and the pair remained together to see the hosts to 229 without further loss in 29 overs. Rew ended unbeaten on 127 which he scored off 85 balls with 19 fours and three sixes, while Kelsey was 21 not out.

Oscar grabbed his five-wicket haul when Somerset U18s travelled to play against Gloucestershire at Thornbury in round three of the ECB County Cup. Fin Hill contributed 49 to the Somerset cause as they were batting first, the total being 200 from 38.1 overs.

When the hosts replied they were bowled out for 141 in 28.5 overs, Coleman starring with his five wickets and one maiden.

Devon chose to to bat in their 50 over match against Somerset Under 18 Boys and scored 235 for eight, in reply to which Somerset reached their target in 49 overs for the loss of seven wickets thanks to James Matravers who hit 65 off 98 balls with six fours and three sixes, 29 from Blasie Baker and an unbeaten 40 from Jago Barclay.

Lola Harris achieved her impressive bowling performance in the Girls Under 18 semi-final defeat to Kent, who batting first were all out for 125 in 37.5 overs. Harris sent down nine overs, of which seven were maidens and ended up with five wickets for four runs.

In the T20 format, Somerset Girls U18s played twice against Hertfordshire, the first of which saw the former win with a total of 127-5, Lilly Hawkins top-scoring with 37.

After making 118-7 in the first game, Hertfordshire posted 117-7 in the second and Somerset were able to chase down this target score in 15.3 overs, losing three wickets in the process. Bracken Whittaker (29), Harris (26) and Katie Rowe (25) starred with bat in hand.

Against Wiltshire meanwhile, at King’s Bruton, they were asked to bat first and were all out for 100 in 34.3 overs. The visitors reached 101-4 in 28.1 overs with Connie Osborn (2-16) provided the biggest challenge from them.
