STOGUMBER stretched their lead at the top of the third division in the West Somerset Cricket League after they beat Bishops Hull away by 75 runs.
Deciding to bat first, Stogumber scored 236-9 with D Godfrey (94), Elias Hayes (44) and Peter Horton (43) scoring a bulk of their runs. Kasum Chathuranga took 3-17.
The home side were dismissed for 161 with Morgan Chanter scoring 43 and J Jenkins taking 3-46 and Hayes 3-8.
Sampford Arundel lost for the second successive week, this time going down by four wickets to Cannington. The Wellington side were all out for 177 with Ed Crossly top scoring with 48 while Tom Clark snapped up 5-36, Stephen King 2-34 and Daryl Lush 2-39. Cannington timed their run chase to perfection with Adam Caswell hitting 34 while Clark was 26 not out.
Cutcombe kept in touch with the leaders after beating Wiveliscombe at home by 98 runs. Cutcombe scored 311-7 with Elliott Binding being two short of a double century when their 40 overs ran out. Lee Baker also scored 47.
Stuart Denyer scored 114, which included 17 fours, but it was not enough to beat Cutcombe whose leading bowlers were James Gregory (6-27) and Ben Pursey (2-60).
