MINEHEAD Thirds travelled away to play against Cutcombe in Division Three of the West Somerset League where, thanks to an unbeaten century from Vishnu Kombath, they were victorious by 25 runs.

After winning the toss and opting to bat first opener Vishnu led from the top. Four wickets fell at the other end before he was joined by Renjeesh Krishnan and the pair remained together for the rest of the innings.

By the end of their 30 over the visitors had scored 237 for four, Vishnu ending unbeaten on 106 while Ranjeesh not out 91. For the home side Harry Lacey took two for 45.

When the home side replied openers Mark Matravers with 56 and Lee Baker who made 43 got them off to a good start. Four wickets then fell before Jacob Worrell and Ben Pursey came together. 

Despite the fifth wicket pair staying together by the end of their 30 overs Cutcombe were 25 runs short ending on 212 for four, Worrell not out 33 and Pursey 45 not out- his best score for the club.

Ranjeesh was the pick of the Minehead bowlers taking two for 36 from his sevren overs.
