WELLINGTON 2nd XI get their season underway in Division Three of the Somerset Cricket League when they play at home to Taunton Deane Cavaliers on the Playing Field on Saturday (May 4).
Minehead are without a game this weekend but are home to Chard in Division Three on Monday.
Wiveliscombe will be playing in Division Two but they do not have a match until Saturday, May 11, when they are away to Huntspill & District.
However, fixtures very much depend on whether pitches are ready for play following the bad weather this year which has been a nightmare for club groundsmen.
Heavy rain early in April made it difficult for groundsmen to prepare pitches but they have quickly dried - although some may still not be in a condition to play on. They would appear dry but they are still wet under the surface.
League fixtures on Saturday, May 4 include - Division Three: Wellington v Taunton Deane Cavaliers, Street v Spaxton, South Petherton v North Perrott, Middlezoy v Cheddar.
Division Six W: Taunton Deane Crusaders v Winscombe, Taunton v Taunton Indians, Weston super Mare v Ilton, Wembdon Academy v Middlezoy, Shapwick & Polden v Welington.
Monday, May 6: Minehead v Chard.
