A CENTURY from young keeper/batter Jonah Hopkins and 77 from Andrew Stevens set the tone for Minehead Seconds' impressive victory over Street in Division Three of the Somerset Cricket League on Saturday.
After being asked to bat Minehead openers took control from the start and shared a first wicket partnership of 183 before Stevens was run out for 77 which included 15 fours.
Soon after Hopkins went to his century and saw up the 200 before he was out for 107- an innings which included 18 fours and two sixes with the total on 212.
Josh Hurley made a valuable 26 before Minehead eventually reached 242 for five from their 40 overs. James Mayfield with two for 52 was the pick of the Street bowlers.
When the visitors replied Alfie Rucklidge picked up two Street wickets before Tom Davey and Sam Frost shared a partnership. The rest of the Street innings was dominated by Maxfield who ended unbeaten on 88 as he ran out of partners and his side were bowled out for 202 in 36 overs. For the hosts James Davis had three for 17, Rob Spiers three for 34 while Rucklidge ended with two for 40.
