LOCAL professional Ryan Searle lost out at the third round stage of the RDC World Darts Championships at the Alexandra Palace in London.

Searle was beaten 4-3 by fellow Englishman Ryan Joyce in a dramatic match.

Joyce hit a remarkable 113 checkout and there was a hiccup from Searle as he missed a single 20 to leave double tops in the final set.

The championship carries £2,500,000 in prizemoney with £500,000 going to the winner.

There was some consolation for Searle as he collected £25,000 as a third-round loser.
