FORMER Court Fields School student Brook Aspin is in the England Under 23 Lionesses' football squad for their last two matches of the year.
England will play away to Norway on Thursday, November 28, before welcoming Sweden to the Eco-Power Stadium, home of Doncaster Rovers, on Monday, December 2.
England boss Emma Coates said: “These are two exciting games against tough opponents. Not only do we want to finish the year with two strong performances, but we want to put ourselves in the best position in our group for the next stage of the competition.
“That’s exactly why we’ve developed the WU23 competition, so our players can experience what it’s like playing with an added level of pressure.
“We’ve played in front of some great crowds this year and I hope to see another one in Doncaster for our final game of 2024. I have some amazing memories of coaching at Doncaster Rovers Belles, so it’ll be a really special night to return to the club with the Young Lionesses.”
Defender Aspin was a member of the England team which reached the semi-finals of the UEFA Women's Under 19 Football Championship in Lithuania earlier this year.
She played in all three group mataches in which England beat Portugal 1-0, Lithuania 10-0 and France 1-0 before losing 3-1 to Spain in the semi-finals.
She played for Bristol City last season, having come up through the Robins' Academy and made her debut at the age of 16.
She signed for Chelsea on a permanent contract in July of last year with a loan-back clause for the 2023-24 season.
She is currently playing on loan for Crystal Palace in the Women's Super League.
Aspin, who came up through the youth ranks of the Wellington club, was the mainstay of England's Under 19s squad where her performances were rewarded with a call-up for the Under 23s last year but she had to pull out because of injury.
Over the past 18 months four of the Under 23s have played for the seniors, with three making their debuts.
