WATCHET Town and Minehead have crucial home games in the Somerset County League on Saturday, January 4.

Watchet play Wells City Reserves and will be hoping for three points to move further away from the relegation zone in the Premier Division (2p.m.) while Minehead will be looking for a win against Wrington Redhill to stay with the leaders in the first division (3p.m.).

As is the case almost every week, Watchet are forced into making changes with Riley Willis, Eddie Townsend and Connor Jeromsom all unavailable, while there are ‘one or two’ injury doubts.

Watchet lost 3-2 at Staplegrove last weekend and Nick Sully, a member of the club’s management committee, said: “We did not let them play in the first half. But it was all downhill after they scored their first goal just before half-time.”

Wells are lying ninth in the table while Watchet are fourth from bottom.

Minehead will be strengthened by the return of goalkeeper Kieran Wilkins, defender George Painter and midfielder Sam Heath for their match against Wrington Redhill who are lying third In Division One .Minehead dropped two points in a 2-2 draw at Middlezoy last Saturday, much to the disappointment of manager Craig Carr who admitted his ’side did not play well.’
