MINEHEAD Under12s made the short trip to play Watchet in the Somerset Girls Football League, looking to repeat the previous weekend's win over the same opponents.
The game started slowly but once Minehead found their rhythm they created plenty of scoring opportunities.
Eventually Minehead opened the scoring with a smart right footed shot from the edge of the box. They continued to press forward and before the break scored three more making it 4-0.
The second half saw Minehead hungry for more goals but Watchet made it difficult for them. In the end the goal of the day came as Minehead scored direct from a free kick.
Both of Minehead’s keepers did well to ensure a clean sheet and a fantastic dive saved the visitors from conceding a last minute goal.
More chances from Minehead, including a great team move culminating in a fierce shot striking the woodwork, made for an exciting match to watch for the many spectators on the side line.
Minehead scored one more from close range to complete a 6-0 win and make the short trip home with all three points.
