MINEHEAD play the first of three successive home games in the first division of the Uhlsport Somerset County League when they meet Keynsham Town Reserves on Saturday, December 7 (3p.m.).

Minehead slipped back to fifth in the table after their 2-1 defeat away to Ashton & Backwell United last weekend, but manager Craig Carr said this week: “We’re improving with every game. We created chances against Ashton but, unfortunately, we didn’t take them. However, the time to worry is when you are not creating chances.

“I will be making some changes in the side against Keynsham and there will be a few surprises in the starting line-up. The lads are looking forward to playing at home in their next three matches - and it gives us the chance of stepping up the pressure at the top of the table.”

Minehead’s other home games are Stockwood Green on Saturday, December 14, and a return game against Ashton & United the following weekend.

Watchet Town, who slipped back into the relegation zone in the Premier Division of the county league after their 3-1 defeat away to Chilcompton Sports last weekend, play away to Uphill Castle who are 11th with four more points than Watchet.
