PORLOCK snapped up a late goal to gain a 3-2 home win over Wellington A in the Premier Division of the Taunton Saturday Football League.
Porlock were in control from the first minute, creating plenty of chances. However it wasn’t until 15 minutes the Robins made their dominance count when, following great work down the right by Lewis Goodrum, the ball was played to Chris Barrett who put in a great cross which Ollie Morris volleyed into the net.
It looked like this would be the only score of the first half but right on the whistle Wellington levelled with a goal following a corner, making it 1-1 air the break.
Porlock started strongly after the interval with a couple of chances falling to Barrett and Morris but they couldn’t convert.
Again the hosts were dominating until against the run of play Wellington took the lead.
With 20 minutes remaining the Robins finally got another goal which they well deserved after constant pressure. A cross from Barrett found Morris in the box who scored his second goal to level the scores.
With half a minute remaining the game looked to be heading for a draw , but great work from Ryan Cape found Barrett who slotted home to give Porlock victory.
