WATCHET Town's goalkeeper Adam Bishop has played his last game for the Somerset County Football League club.

Bishop, now 33, who made his debut for Watchet as a 14-year-old, bowed out after the club's game at Ashcott.

Bishop, a one-club man, said: "I've loved every single minute playing for Watchet. My highlights would be winning the league and cup.

"I'm due to become a dad for the first time in July. I've also bought a house which needs doing up.

"I've had a few injuries this season which has affected my decision to retire. But I want to stay involved with the club and I would like to do some coaching.

"Watchet is a very well run club - and they're a great bunch of lads. I would also like to thank Nick Sully for all the help he has given me during my time playing for Watchet. He was there right at the beginning."

Watchet club spokesman Nick Sully said: "Adam has been one of the best goalkeepers at this level in the league. He has also played for the league's representative side.

Sully added: "Obviously we will soon start looking around for a new goalkeeper. So if anyone is interested they can get in touch with me (01984 631483)."
