MIKE Cottrell was the clear winner of Oake Manor Golf Club’s Saturday Stableford competition. Mike scored 43 points, five points ahead of second-placed Christopher Dubery who had 38 points. Michael Bright came third with 37 points.

Thomas Bordier won the Sunday Stableford, scoring 39 points. Richard Connell came second with 37 points while Alexander Pearson was third, also with 37 points.

The Seniors played a Bowmaker Competition on Monday - two scores from three to count. The winning team were Andy Stevenson, Alan Harman and Phil Marsh who scored 73 points. Dave Kinnear, Richard Crouch and club captain Charles St George were second with 72 points while Mike Bright and Glyn Pearce, playing as a pair, were third with 71 points.

Sandra Lawrence won the Ladies Tuesday nine hole Christmas Pudding Competition with 17 points. Judy Phripp was second with 16 points while Amanda Mathers was third with 14 points. All the ladies who took part in the event enjoyed a Cadbury’s Christmas Pudding at the end of play.

Former Somerset cricketer Ian Blackwell was the winner of the Wednesday Midweek Stableford Competition, scoring 39 points. Martin Jenkins came second with 38 points while Jack Jones was third with 34 points.
