NOVEMBER has seen the start of the Christmas competitions at Minehead and West Somerset Golf Ladies Section.

Last week was the Turkey Trot individual competition. In times gone by the first prize was a turkey for Christmas no doubt; but now it is replaced with money but the name has still been kept.

The winner was Nancy Marshall with an impressive winter score of 35 points off a playing handicap of 11 with seven pars on the card. Second was Annette O’Hare, also with 35 point,s but Nancy scored more points on the second nine holes so was therefore declared the winner.
