AFTER some poor results, Alcombe Rovers bounced back to winning form with a 10-1 home win over Bridgwater & Albion Reserves in Division Two of the Taunton Saturday League

They started off strongly, creating chances early on when Josh Elston ran through Albion's defence and celebrated his birthday with a goal. The hosts were in control until keeper Nat Leader made a mistake and passed the ball to the Albion striker who levelled the scores.

Alcombe got straight back to it when winger Joel Floyd whipped a cross into Sam Hurley who headed it across goal for a tap-in for skipper Brian Hall.

Shortly afterwards Hall was back on the scoresheet and five minutes later completed his hat-trick, mking him the oldest player in the league to score two first half hat-tricks in one season.

Sam Hurley then made it five followed by an own goal making it 6-1. Mark Daniels then miss hit and lobbed the keeper, after which Lee Todd won a penalty which Dan Godfrey slotted home, before getting his second. To finish the day Joel Floyd hit a lovely strike which went in off a post, ending what was an easy day at the office for the mighty Rovers!
