MINEHEAD are Exmoor Bowls Trophy winners in a very closely contested local mixed triples competition.

The league is played throughout the summer on Sunday afternoons between Williton, Porlock and Watchet. With only four points between 1st and 3rd place clubs Minehead secured 56 points with Porlock pipping Williton to second place by just the one point on 53 to Williton's 52.

Despite ending up 3rd Williton managed to accrue a staggering +77 shot difference while Williton & Minehead finished ahead, both finished with a -1 shot difference. This is the first time Minehead have lifted the trophy in 10 years. A big thank you goes to Roger Prince, of Porlock, who organises this league. Meanwhile, Minehead Men played their last game in the County Men's Rink League in South West 2 division, against Wellington B.  Minehead won on all 3 rinks and secured the maximum 12 points.  Colin Hirons, Brian Matthew, Terry Morgan and Mark Palmer winning 26-13; Tony Everett, Geoff Murrell, R Ware and Tom Hill winning 24-20 and Royston Ball, Iain Bullock, Eric Clarbull and Nick Gardner winning 21-11.

Having won 7 out of 9 games, they end the season top of the table and division winners, earning themselves promotion into South West 1 next season.
