MINEHEAD Barbarians RFC Under 12s played their first match of the season against Weston Roses away, where they had a great start with a confident win over the opposition.

Weston were short of players so the extra players who had travelled with Minehead were loaned to make up equal teams.

The match was played in four quarters of ten minutes which enabled all of the Minehead Barbarians players the chance to play for the opposition as well.

MBRFC made a great start by scoring several tries within the first few minutes and they continued to dominate the first quarter with many tries being run over the line.

The team also showed a strong defensive line as well. The second quarter was more of a challenge with Weston making the most of their borrowed players and running in some tries of their own.

The third quarter again saw MBRFC dominating the scoring and showing some great tackling skills and rucking around the field with all the players really getting stuck in and playing some great rugby.

The fourth quarter again showed Minehead dominance and lots more tries being scored. Players of the match were Justin Mapuranga making his debut and Oliver Bishop.
