MINEHEAD Barbarians Under 13s opened their season with an away trip to Taunton where they took an early lead when Fred Bishop, broke through to score.
The visitors rucked very well in the first quarter and after having most of the possession, followed up with a try from Ed White.
Leading after the first quarter two tries to nil , Taunton came back strongly and scored three tries to put them into the lead 3-2 at half time.
After half time Taunton scored a try straight from the off and added another two soon after. Another try from a penalty on the line saw Taunton leading 7-2 but despite trailing Minehead rallied well and didn’t give up with Zak Hughes scoring in the corner.
Harry Tucker scored a well deserved try from a penalty to bring the score to 7-4 before a late try by Taunton made the score at the final whistle 8-4 to the home side.
This was a great effort from all the Minehead boys and the scoreline didn’t reflect their performance, or on the team’s spirits.
This was a great all round performances from all the boys who all gave 110% effort, Man of the match was Harry Tucker for tackling all over the pitch.
