MINEHEAD Barbarians Rugby Club have helped raise £1,800 for charity after playing in a match at Matlock in Derbyshire.
A party of twenty-nine were involved in a 'social tour,' which was organised by club president Colin Howells, Paul Emmerson and Matt Holman.
The Babas played a game against Flying Unicorns, the official rugby team of the charity 'Tough Enough to Care,' which raised the four-figure amount.
Minehead youngster Harry Reeder snapped up two tries for the visitors, with others coming from Charlie Payne, Ben Willis, Rich Maddocks and Holman.
Colin Howells said afterwards: "The Unicorns have promised to pay us a visit at the end of next season.
"We're also looking at organising a tour a little bit more exotic next year."
The Minehead club have just completed another successful season - for the seniors, right down through the age groups.
Mick Orton remains head coach next season and one of his priorities is to improve the coaching set-up within the club,
Orton, who is in his second spell with the club, is also hoping for players to make themselves more available next season,
Minehead's first team enjoyed a splendid first half to the season, but suffered injuries to key players after Christmas which had a serious impact on results.
