MINEHEAD Cycling Club members have reported lovely riding conditions at their club trip to Spain.
Organiser David Bray said: "I have been coming here to Denia for years and am delighted that I can share the smooth and quiet roads with clubmates.
“It's a lovely place, with the bonus of lots of relaxation opportunities after the day’s ride. We have been doing 60 to 70 miles and lots of climbing each day, I'm very impressed by the group who are getting fitter by the day." Separately, rather nearer home, Nathan Bale rode the Somerset 100km. H said: "Absolutely smashed it, an amazing day, loved riding with old friends, two minutes faster than last year too!" Off road action included the South West Regional MTB Championships at Exeter. Bonita Waddams continued her good form with 3rd in the Juniors, her dad, Matthew, was 9th in the very competitive Grand vet class.
Stephen Crossman was 4th in the Super vets. Best ride though was Ed Welsh, 3rd in the Expert.Ed said:"It's been a slow recovery from injury, but it's nice to feel that I can race a bike again."
