MINEHEAD Hockey Club Ladies ventured to Ottery St Mary for their first away game to play Honiton Hornets and came away with a hard-fought point in a 2-2 draw.

Minehead settled into the game and created some great passes with excellent runs from the forwards to attack with some shots on goal and managed to get the first short corner of the game.

This was received at the top of D, then slipped left to Amy who scored, taking Minehead 1-0 up into the break.

Some great passes early in the second half from Amy to Gemma set up the next goal as Zoey took advantage of the sparse Honiton defenders and bagged Minehead their second.

Honiton fought back and scored their first from a short corner.The Minehead midfield worked tirelessly as the play switched from attacking to defending and keeper Jan made some excellent saves.

Honiton were piling on the pressure and managed to earn several short corners. One was defended quickly by Amy who picked up the ball at the top of the D and made an attacking run but Honiton regained possession and Minehead were unable to save their next short corner which left the final score at 2-2.
