MINEHEAD Bowls Club Ladies have pulled off a local ‘double, successfully lifting both the Evelyn Yandle Trophy and the Ray Thorne Shield.

Throughout the summer ladies from three local clubs, Minehead, Watchet and Williton, compete in the Evelyn Yandle League; two triples’ teams from each club play each other each week, rotating around each green.

For the second year in a row Minehead were the league winners, then hosted the Ray Thorne Shield.  This year’s format was four pairs from each club and the side with the highest accumulation of shots across lifted the trophy.  A big thanks go to those who competed to ensure the continuation of the competition.
