MINEHEAD Tennis Club played their first match in Division Three of the North Somerset Tennis League.
Facing Wedmore B the men's doubles was a close game, Ken Holroyd and Ricardo Sanchez taking the match in a close championship tiebreak 6-7 6-4 1-0.
The ladies match was won comfortably by Katherine Tilke and Judy Kay played powerful tennis and converting overhead lobs 6-2 6-4.
The mixed doubles first pair Kat and Ken took both sets 6-1 6-1. Ricardo and Judy lost 4-6 6-7. Minehead were overall winners 8-3 and continue their winter league season until March .
