A SIX wicket haul for Jack White and two half centuries from Andrew Stevens and Henry Murrell helped Minehead Seconds to their ninth and final win of the season when they beat Taunton Deane Third XI away to secure third place in Division Three of the Somerset Cricket League.
After being put into bat the home side got off to a good start before Harry Tudball removed Mark Norman for 23. However when White came into the attack wickets started to fall at regular intervals as he claimed six for 50, his best ever figures for the club, off 7.2 overs, which included the wicket of opener Benny Jessep for 64, before Deane were all out for 198 in the 40th over.
When the visitors replied Stevens and Gregg Howard gave them a good start before Howard was out for 22.
Stevens was then joined by Murrell and the pair saw up with 100 before the latter was out for 50. Stevens went onto make 77 before he departed after which the ever reliable Gary Bennett who made an unbeaten 27 and Harry Tudball with five not out saw Minehead to victory by six wickets in the 38th over.
