MINEHEAD Barbarians’ second string travelled to top of the league side Martock, and put up a sterling performance before losing 52-17.
The Minehead backs showed some real threat in attack, but the strong Martock pack kept their side on the front foot throughout.
For Minehead, tries came from Luke Senior, Martell Payn and a penalty try awarded when a high tackle prevented Minehead scoring. It was good to see Lee Johnson-Smith back on the field after a long time. Despite this loss the Barbarians stay fourth.
Bruce Bullard, returning from a leg injury sustained at the beginning of the season, was named Man of the Match for the Barbarians.
