MINEHEAD Barbarians Under 10s played host to their counterparts from North Petherton - and had the better of an enjoyable game.

Although cold, conditions were ideal for rugby and the Minehead Under 10s didn’t disappoint. In front of a good sized crowd of supporters, who cheered the team on; they started the way they left off the week before against South Molton.

The home team were playing some exciting rugby, their rucking has improved and their passing and support play was fantastic to watch.

On a number of occasions North Petherton tried several passages of play but Minehead’s ability to rip the ball allowed them to then progress up the pitch to score several tries. To their credit the visitors never gave up but again and again Minehead held strong and at the final whistle it was the home team that ran out as the comfortable winners.

Once again the team management had a difficult decision to pick out individuals when everyone had contributed so much to the game but in the end it was decided to award Gladiator of the Day to Liam Floyd, while the Barbarian of the Day was awarded to Joshua Wyatt.
