WIVELISCOMBE’S second fifteen edged the top place decider in the Somerset Four Somerset South by beating title rivals Martock 30-17 at Plain Pond.
Wivey had the best of play early on but the visitors raised their game in the second half with the home team doing well to take the win and gain promotion to Counties Three Tribute Somerset South.
Wiveliscombe’s captain Dave Audemard crossed for a try with fellow forward Elliott Deeks adding a second.
Three quarters Tom Lally and Tom Caughey added Wiveliscombe’s other two tries.
Cameron Palk at fly half added two conversion and two penalties.
The team under the guidance of Jamie Cook and Des Corfield are developing into useful team and will compete well at a higher league.
Wiveliscombes 2ndXV complete their league programme on April 5th when they head to Bridgwater.
