HORNETS, who are top of the Somerset Three South league were made to work hard for their 16th win of the season with the home team limiting the visitors to three tries.
Hornets flyhalf Conor Hull was the difference between the two teams with his excellent ball distribution allowing his threes to put pressure on the home team.
Wiveliscombe had the edge in in the set scrums but struggled to construct any meaningful attacks against a stubborn defence.
First half tries for Hornets came from Luke Collins and Bryn Solomon with Connor Hull adding two conversions.
