SOMERSET'S Tom Abell played a starring role in the Sunrisers Eastern Cape’s victory over Durban Super Giants in the final of the Betway SA20 2024.

Abell scored 55 out of the Sunrisers' 204 for three before his team bowled out the Super Giants for 115 in 17 overs. Following the final Abell was named Player of the Match

The former Somerset skipper has been in fine form in the competition and his contributions enabled the Sunrisers to top the group stage.

In the nine matches he played in the SA20 the Somerset scored 286 runs which included three half centuries at an average of 47.67 with a best of 65, all of which bodes well for the coming season back home with the Cidermen.
