WATCHET TOWN 0 FRY CLUB 1

WATCHET failed to improve their lowly league position last Saturday (October 12) when they went down to the only goal of the game from high-flying Fry Club, Keynsham, at the Memorial Ground.

Although the better side won, the Red and Blacks were again still in with a chance of upsetting the odds right up to the final whistle without possessing the necessary ingredients to seriously threaten their opponents.

Looking the sharper outfit from the outset, Frys were always the more likely scorers as the home side relied on some good saves from keeper Adam Jones, last ditch defending at times and wayward finishing by the visitors to stay afloat.

The pattern continued the same in the second half until the deadlock was broken midway through when Gwyther found the far corner of the net for Frys. A couple of late headers from Charley Clausen which were narrowly off-target were Watchet's main replies before they again ended up pointless.
