WATCHET Town felt hard done by to come away from Worle with nothing to show for their efforts when they went down by the odd goal in five in the Premier Division of the Uhlsport Somerset County Football League last Saturday.

A shade unfortunate to be behind at the interval the Red & Blacks looked the better side after drawing level in the second half only to be sunk by a scrappy goal following a corner in stoppage time.

In a fairly end to end first half Watchet gave as good as they received generally, but they fell behind when a coming together between Lewis Rogers and his winger was deemed to be illegal by the official and debutant keeper Vinnie Jones went the wrong way as Stockhall's penalty kick found the back of the net to put his side in front.

There was little danger when Watchet were presented the chance to equalize thanks to a wayward defensive pass which left on-loan striker Chris Barrett in the clear to calmy roll his shot wide of the advancing keeper.

It was no more than the visitors deserved until out of the blue Worle regained the lead when Ryan Hodrien cut in from the left flank to unleash a 25-yarder into the top corner of the net.

There were early signs in the second half that Watchet were going to get back into the game with Alfie Lyons having some good touches on the right and Riley Willis working hard in midfield despite having played a game in the morning. Barrett was cautioned for a challenge on the keeper, but he was having a growing effect in the visiting frontline and notched his second of the match to get Watchet back on terms midway through.

Charley Clausen's inviting angled delivery from deep on the right found the striker leaping between two defenders to send a powerful downward header into the corner of the net.

Barrett was linking up well with teammate Jari High, who played a one-two with Brandon Walsh, whose shot was saved and the ball was forced over the line only for the referee to rule that the keeper's one hand on the ball had given him control of it.

With Watchet looking the more likely winners despite Rogers heading onto his own crossbar, they were dealt a sucker punch when a corner was not dealt with and a static defence allowed a shot to loop gently into the net.
