COWBRIDGE Sawmill and Forge, Timberscombe, is open with free admission to the public on May 12 as part of National Mills Weekend.

Hard work by many volunteers at the 14th century mill has seen it restored to a working heritage sawmill.

In addition to a 14-foot water wheel and restored vintage mill machinery, the site contains a vast collection of agricultural machinery and tools.

Visitors will have an opportunity to view the ambitious restoration which has taken place under the guidance of owner Owen Rush.

The mill should interest both young and old and free guided tours are available from 11 am to 4.30 pm.

It can be found at the junction of the A396 and the Wootton Courtenay road.
