A CHANCE to hear what Minehead Male Voice Choir will be singing at the Cornwall International Male Choral Festival in May is on offer on Saturday (April 6).
In preparation for the choir’s first appearance at the festival, it has teamed up with local civil engineers CJ Lynch & Sons.
When not in their familiar concert uniform, the singers will be seen in Cornwall sporting polo shirts displaying the choir’s logo thanks to the generous sponsorship of CJ Lynch & Sons.
The choir will sing alongside others both from this country and abroad in two evening concerts in Newquay and Launceston and will finish with a daytime concert at the Eden Project.
Jackie Butterworth, musical director of Minehead Male Voice Choir, said she was delighted to be taking the choir to Cornwall. There is such great camaraderie between male choirs that many new friendships will be made.
A concert previewing the choir’s festival programme takes place in St Andrew’s Church at 7.30pm on April 6. Tickets cost £7.50 on the door and include light refreshments.
The choir welcomes any new singers to the regular Monday evening rehearsals at 7.30pm in Alcombe Methodist Church Hall.
