A FLEA market has raised £800 for a heating project for Allerford’s Museum of Rural Life.

The money will be put toward the installation of heating for the museum which will allow it to stay open for longer in the year.

It will also help to ensure the museum’s artefacts, which reflect the rich heritage of the local rural life, are properly preserved.

The museum is currently open until the end of October on Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday from 10am to 4pm and on Saturday from 1pm to 4pm.

Museum secretary Ann Lund said: “The museum team extends a warm thank you to everybody who came out to support the event, whether by donating, buying, or simply spreading the word.

“The funds raised highlight the strength of our community and the shared commitment to preserving our local history for future generations.”

Ms Lund said building on the success, the museum was excited to announce its upcoming Christmas Fair on November 30.

She said: “This festive gathering will be a wonderful opportunity to come together, enjoy local crafts, festive treats, and family-friendly activities.

“All proceeds from the fair will further support the museum’s fund-raising efforts.

“We hope to see our community and visitors continue its incredible support at the Christmas Fair as we work together to keep our shared history alive.”
