DRAMATIC cliff fall footage has been captured on a beach near Watchet.
The Helwell Bay event was filmed by Jennifer Wedlake, who regularly visits looking for fossils with her partner.
Ms Wedlake said: “Each time we have been, we noticed a few bits falling, but nothing major.
“We went down again that day, and we noticed a larger amount falling down, so we started filming and were lucky enough to catch it.”
Dr Andy King, director of Watchet-based Geckoella, said the cliffs were in a regularly surveyed landslip area.
He said: “Erosion here is due to several factors, including direct impacts from the sea, hydrology, and groundwater movement, as well as the naturally soft, faulted, and deformed nature of the alternating mudstone, clay, and limestone cliffs.”
