ANYBODY with an interest in Watchet Marina is being invited to attend a meeting in the town with the new owners on Wednesday evening (April 2).

Senior managers of Western Marinas Ltd have been invited to speak to the public by Watchet Coastal Community Team (WCCT).

The company has been winning local hearts and minds since taking over and immediately starting a dredging operation and more recently beginning to repair the marina gate which has been out of use for some years.

Watchet Boat Owners Association treasurer Martin Stevens said the meeting will be in the Phoenix Centre, starting at 7 pm.

Mr Stevens said the evening had been arranged because of the huge public interest which had been shown in the rehabilitation of the marina.

He said: “The aim is to give the company an opportunity to inform the public of their plans and aspirations for the marina, which they have shared in a very open and honest way with berth holders since taking the facility on in September.

“It is clear that those plans have the potential to have a marked impact on Watchet.

“For this reason, WCCT has decided to open the meeting to anybody who has an interest, ie, make it a public meeting.”
