A MAN who brandished what appeared to be a knife near Stogumber Church of England Primary School and the village hall has been released from custody.
Dean Cohen, aged 37, made a third appearance before Taunton magistrates last week and admitted charges of common assault and possession of a bladed article.
Cohen had been remanded in custody for three weeks after his previous appearance following the incident in the Station Road area of the West Somerset village.
Police were called to the incident on June 25 when a number of people had felt threatened.
The magistrates committed Cohen for a sentencing hearing to take place in Taunton Crown Court, which currently sits in Worle, near Weston super Mare, on Friday, September 27.
Cohen was released on unconditional bail to appear on that date.
A further charge against Cohen of causing an affray was withdrawn at the magistrates court by the Crown Prosecution Service.
