A HARBOURSIDE birthday party will be held in Watchet next week for the town’s Forget-Me-Not Cafe.
The cafe celebrates its ninth anniversary on Wednesday (May 15) and will mark the occasion with a party on the Esplanade, or inside the Esplanade Club if the weather is wet.
It is happening during Dementia Action Week, which starts on Monday.
Margaret Tatham, of Watchet and the Quantocks Dementia Action Alliance, said: “There will be our usual guess the weight of the cake competition as well as a raffle for the beautiful forget-me-not plate donated by Serendipity as they closed.”
Also, throughout the week the town’s Chives Cafe will be selling Alzheimer's Society Forget-Me-Not badges.
On the Friday, Mrs Tatham will be presenting a dementia friends session in The Sanctuary, Swain Street, at 7.30 pm after the community meal.
The alliance runs two Forget-Me-Not Cafes on opposite Wednesdays in The Sanctuary, Watchet, and the Jubilee Rooms, Stogursey, from 10.30 am to 12 noon.
