DESPITE this year’s erratic growing conditions Dunster Tithe Barn was full of wonderful exhibits of fruit and vegetables and displays of colourful flowers for the annual Dunster Horticultural Society flower show.

There were also many home craft entries, and new exhibitors were welcomed as entries were up on last year’s show.

Craft and needlework entries were of a high standard and the art and photography were well supported.

In the children’s section could be found baking, art, gardens on plates, and vegetable animals.

Trophies were awarded by the new society chairman Sarah Griffiths and president Beryl Priddle.

Ms Griffiths thanked members of the village’s Women’s Institute for serving teas and cakes throughout the afternoon, the judges for giving up their time, the committee members and volunteers for making the show happen, and all the people who supported the event.

She said next year the show would be held later in the year, on Saturday, September 13.
