GRANTS up to £20,000 for community buildings are being offered by Somerset Community Foundation (SCF).

SCF wants to help organisations running village halls, community centres, sports pavilions, and other assets used by the whole town or village.

The money is for energy efficiency and sustainability projects, such as low energy lighting, solar panels, insulation, or air-to-air source heat pumps.

A spokesperson said: “Lots of community buildings have told us the increase in energy costs since the start of the cost of living crisis has put their long-term future in jeopardy.

“Many trustees felt they had no choice but to pass some or all of these additional costs on to groups that rent their buildings.”

Details are available on the SCF website.
