PEOPLE in West Somerset are urged to support St Margaret’s Hospice Care’s annual Colour Run this year.

The bright, colourful, fun and community-led event raises much needed funds for the charity and will be held at Taunton Racecourse.

Promised to be an unforgettable event for the whole family, the hospice is encouraging everyone to dress up for the occasion in as many colours as they can.

The hospice has been at the heart of the community in Somerset for more than 40 years and delivers responsive, high-quality and compassionate care to patients.

Hundreds of people from across the Somerset region are expected to attend at the 4km run and, for added fun, there will be powder paint, foam and flitter galore.

St Margaret’s Hospice Care is encouraging all types of runners to join in, whether they’re seasoned runners or beginners, or anybody who would just like to enjoy the colours with a family stroll.

Running enthusiast Jon Witney, who supports St Margaret’s and is attending with his daughter, Jessie, said: “It’s a great excuse to get messy and do something fun with a great story behind it. It’s the 8th time I’ll be taking part, and it’s always great fun. We go as a family every year.”

Other participants, said: “I take part in the Colour Run to give back to the hospice and thank them for the amazing support they gave to my best mate, Woody, and my Dad, John. The support the hospice gave to my Dad was a different level of care. It was astounding.”

Events Manager at St Margaret’s, Merle Harrison-Croft, said: “This year’s Colour Run is going to be an explosion of colour, joy, and fun for all and we’re so excited for you to join us!”

The event will be held on Saturday, May 18. Tickets cost £20 for adults and £15 for children.
