THE acclaimed UK theatre company, Chapterhouse, is set to perform at Dunster Castle for their 2025 Summer tour.

Somerset residents will have the opportunity to see Alice’s Adventures in Wonderland and Pride and Prejudice in the beautiful setting of Dunster Castle. Each production has been adapted by Chapterhouse, which specialises in Shakespeare, classic literature adaptations, and family shows.

Lewis Carroll’s classic tale will be performed on Saturday, June 14 from 6.30pm. Adapted by Laura Turner, Chapterhouse will be taking the audience on a journey down the famous rabbit hole this summer.

When young Alice tumbles into a fantastical world of talking caterpillars, mad hatters, and evil queens with only the white rabbit to guide her, she must rely on her wits and her sense of adventure if she is to make it through Wonderland and return home.

Filled to the brim with magic, music, and not-so-organised chaos, Chapterhouse Theatre Company’s sparkling adaptation is perfect for all the family.

Later in the summer, the theatre group will perform an adaptation of Jane Austen’s Pride and Prejudice on Thursday, July 31 at 6.30pm.

Celebrating 250 years since the birth of Jane Austen, Chapterhouse Theatre Company will be offering audiences the chance to step back in time and meet Elizabeth Bennet and her sisters as they navigate the manners and missteps of regency society.

With stunning period costume, timeless wit, and a romantic original score, Chapterhouse’s Pride and Prejudice is a faithful telling of Austen’s greatest work.

Each performance will take place outdoors on the Dunster Castle site, where audience members can enjoy a picnic while they watch the show unfold.
