EARLY risers are being invited to join a local bird enthusiast for a guided walk around Ashcombe Gardens, Simonsbath, to immerse themselves in an Exmoor ‘dawn chorus’.
Walkers can listen to the symphony of birdsong and learn how to identify different species during the event, which starts at 5.30am on May 9.
The event is part of a programme of Exmoor National Park Authority (ENPA) birding walks led by enthusiast Clive Taylor which began in April with an ‘Exmoor Warbler Walk’ near Liscombe when an impressive 24 species of birds, including a cuckoo, were recorded.
A spokesperson said booking was essential because of limited places on the walks, which cost £5 with all money raised going to charity CareMoor.
