ROYAL Ballet’s MacMillan Celebrated is screening at the Minehead Regal in an Encore live broadcast from the Royal Opera House on April 14 at 2 pm, celebrating the breadth of principal choreographer Kenneth MacMillan’s one-act ballets.
Danses Concertantes was MacMillan’s first major work in 1955, with the critical success spurring him to abandon performing in favour of choreography.
The programme includes Different Drummer, a complex and haunting interpretation of Büchner’s play about a soldier’s descent into madness, and Requiem, his 1976 work for Stuttgart Ballet.
Tickets are £15.50, or Regal Theatre Friends £15, Film Society members/students/ES40s £13, u14s £10.
Numbered seats may be booked online and at the box office (01643 706430) Monday to Saturday 9.30 am to 12 pm.
