AN animal welfare promotion day is being planned by the West Somerset Railway to celebrate National Beagle Day on Tuesday, April 22.
A number of stalls will be set up on the day in Minehead Station from 10am to 4 pm, including by local charities and businesses, to provide information and to sell animal-related items.
The heritage railway, which sees the first of this season’s steam trains run on March 22, will also put on free children’s crafts in its Minehead activity carriage, and mascot Brunel Beagle will be attending.
Among the stallholders already confirmed are St Giles Animal Welfare, Quantock Country Store, Aura’s Dogs UK, Cats Protection Taunton and Minehead, Bristol Animal Rescue Centre, and RSPCA South West Somerset.
