THE National Trust is joining forces with a number of other organisations to offer an exciting line-up of free activities at Horner Wood, Exmoor.
Alongside Plantlife and West Somerset Wildways, the event, entitled Woodland, Water and Wildlife, will run from 10am until 4pm.
The day includes bookable walks and talks from the Southwest’s very own rainforest advisor, Angie Cruise, so people can find out more about the temperate rainforest on your doorstep. Two walking talks on the line up are, What Makes a Rainforest? from 10am-12pm and How to Survey a Rainforest from 1pm-3pm.
West Somerset Wildways will be offering family nature-fuelled activities all day long in Horner Farm barn.
The National Trust is offering two workshops led by author, novelist and sound artist, Ellen Wiles. Creative Writing by the River will run from 11.30am-12.30pm. This creative writing workshop will begin with a led walk, along the river to inspire writing. The suggested age is eight-plus.
The second exciting experience being offered for free is, Riverlandia, an immersive sound story and Q & A. If a river beaver or dragonfly could talk, how would they tell their stories? Booking is advised. More information is available from https://www.nationaltrust.org.uk/visit/somerset/horner-wood.
