VILLAGERS are being asked to brush up on their poetry skills before this year’s Timberscombe Show, which will be held in the village hall on Saturday, August 17.

Show organisers have added a class for limericks, which are usually humorous five-line poems.

Anybody who enters has to start with the line ‘There once was a duck and a goose’.

Village hall trustee and treasurer Lesley Webb said: “It is a fun, happy, and informal occasion and we welcome all abilities and ages to enter.”

Other classes in the annual show which are usually popular include handicraft, photographic, and patterns for the craft knitting project.

A list of the subjects for the photography class is available in the village Post Office.
