Eleven members of the Exmoor Women in Farming Group embarked on an insightful study trip last week, travelling more than 500 miles for a three-day trip to Edinburgh.

The group left West Somerset at 3am and arrived in Edinburgh just over 7 hours later.

As they explored the city, they enjoying tours of the city's historic sites and dining at renowned restaurants, The Dome and Tigerlilly’s, sampling some of Scotland's best food.

Over two days, they visited the Royal Highland Show, meeting livestock exhibitors from Scotland and England. They also interacted with representatives from Bateman Sprayers, Opico, and the Moredun Research Institute.

Notable meetings included Carole Brunton, Chair of Scottish Women in Agriculture, and Jenny Brunton, Senior European Policy Advisor at the British Agriculture Bureau in Brussels, who shared valuable insights about their work.

The trip was a great opportunity for the women of Exmoor to build friendships, share experiences, and take a much-needed break from farm life.
